Chicago Volunteer Doulas (CVD) is excited to announce the newest members of the board who bring unique strengths and perspectives to our mission of supporting families during childbirth and postpartum.



Dr. Ashley Stone: A scholar and teacher at DePaul University, Dr. Stone specializes in social inequalities, race, gender, and intersectionality, contributing valuable knowledge and mentorship to our board.



 

Dr. Thelma C. Sardin: With nearly 15 years of experience in marketing communications, community relations, education, and healthcare, Dr. Sardin excels in strategic communication and leadership, aiming to impact community health outcomes positively.

 

Devri Smith: An 11-year entrepreneur and founder of Precious Little Bites Catering Company, Devri is passionate about community building and culture, bringing her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to community engagement to our board.

CVDoulas provides access to free and low-cost labor, postpartum, and pregnancy loss support. Our work eliminates morbidity and mortality among Black Birthing People and those resource-denied in pregnancy and birth care.
