Chicago Volunteer Doulas Work Mentioned Proudly by Sona Smith in WGNTV Interview!

Updated: Nov 20, 2023

Chicago Volunteers Doulas' work was touted recently by Sona Smith, Birth Justice Program Officer, Ms. Foundation for Women. Smith was recently selected to participate in The Obama Foundation's 'Leaders USA Program,' and in an interview about the appointment with WGNTV, Chicago Volunteer Doulas was acclaimed as one of the many birth justice organizations providing comprehensive community-based solutions for birth injustice.

Smith and The Ms. Foundation is one of Chicago Volunteer Doulas' most supportive grantors. As a non-profit organization, The Ms. Foundation has been working towards promoting gender equality and women's rights since its inception in 1972.

Through its Birth Justice initiative, the Ms. Foundation aims to empower and support CVD's work to ensure every woman has access to high-quality, affordable, and culturally competent care, regardless of race, ethnicity, identity, or socioeconomic status.
